New Ways to Give

Advent Giving (December 2-10)

UPDATE:

The St. Mark Ladies Guild would like to thank the parishioners of St. Mark for their incredible generosity during our Advent Giving Drive. A total of $4880 in cards and cash was donated which was split equally.

We were able to distribute 95 Target $25 gift cards to our own SVdP. And 122 Target $20 gift cards to Catholic Worker House. (They had requested the smaller denomination.)

In addition, cash that came in after the cards had been purchased was split between the two charities.

Once again, by adding this outreach to your “Christmas shopping list”, you have brought joy to those less fortunate this Christmas season. Truly a beautiful and meaningful reflection of the Advent Spirit.

With thanks once again, we wish all a Joyful and Blessed Christmas.

Share the true meaning of the Advent season!

Give love to our neighbors in need by donating in cash, check or a $25 Target gift card. Place it in an envelope marked ‘Advent Giving’ and return to church.

Your cash donations will be used to purchase the gift cards. Please make your checks payable to St. Mark Ladies Guild.

ALL donations will be given to families served by RWC Catholic Worker House and St. Mark - St. Vincent de Paul. Thank you for your generosity!

Nov 18 & 19 Second Collection for Campaign for Human Development

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by funding community programs that encourage independence. You are essential to its success.

Mark this World Day of the Poor (Nov. 19) with your generous donations that will give those in poverty the support they need to make lasting changes.  Together, we can make a difference in families and communities across the United States.

Hands of God Program

UPDATE: ‘Hands of God’ program resumes in 2024!

We are deeply thankful for your embrace of this initiative to help our neighbors in need, and we hope that you will consider purchasing more packets to help those whom society has forgotten. Packets will be sold after each Mass every second weekend of the month. For just $10, you will receive a McDonald's $10 gift card, a prayer card, and a resource card to give to our neighbor.

You can pay in cash or with a check payable to Saint Mark Church / Hands of God.

Nov 11 & 12 Second Collection for St. Patrick’s Seminary

The Seminary serves the Roman Catholic Church by forming priests whose lives are configured to the sacrifice of Jesus, rooted in His Word and Sacrament, and dedicated to serve the people of God with the pastoral charity of Christ.

Your gift today makes a difference, and helps support the academic, spiritual and pastoral education offered to our seminarians who are the future leaders of the Catholic Church.

Thank you for your support!

Oct 21 & 22 Second Collection for World Mission Sunday

Pope Francis, in his message for World Mission Sunday 2023, reflects on the theme “Hearts on fire, feet on the move," based on the story of the disciples who encounter Jesus on their way to Emmaus (cf. Lk 24:13-35). He invites all of us to "set out once more, illumined by our encounter with the risen Lord and prompted by his Spirit.

Let us set out again with burning hearts, with our eyes open and our feet in motion. Let us set out to make other hearts burn with the word of God, to open the eyes of others to Jesus in the Eucharist, and to invite everyone to walk together on the path of peace and salvation that God, in Christ, has bestowed upon all humanity.

On World Mission Sunday, we join our Holy Father in supporting his missions. As we pray and respond here at home, we share in those celebrations taking place in every parish and school throughout the world. Together, through our prayers and financial support, we bring the Lord’s mercy and concrete help to the most vulnerable communities in the Pope’s missions.

Oct 14 & 15 Second Collection for Priests Retirement Fund of the SF Archdiocese

Our priests have dedicated their lives to serving others. They have been with us and those we love for many of life’s most precious moments, from birth to death, showing us the love and compassion of God.

In their retirement years, these men of God need and deserve our help. We will make the Second Collection during the Oct 14 & 15 Masses. Thank you for your generosity!
