Music and Liturgy
The importance of music in biblical religion is shown very simply by the fact that the verb “to sing” (with related words such as “song”, and so forth) is one of the most commonly used words in the Bible. It occurs 309 times in the Old Testament and thirty-six in the New. – Pope Benedict XVI
When you sing…
you dig deep roots in the Word.
you build up others
you make war against evil
you are spiritually strengthened for trial
you walk a God-designed pathway to joy
you glorify God
Why We Sing
Our ministry understands that God, our Lord Almighty, is worthy of our praises and exaltation. As such, music is a very important part of our worship.
Our music ministry is tapestry to the Mass. We are the subtle accents to the Liturgy of the Word, the compliment to the Liturgy of the Eucharist the centerpiece of the Introductory and Concluding Rites.
Where we sing
At all weekend Masses, Masses for Holy days of obligations, Community gatherings, other functions of the church as needed.
How to Join
If you are a singer or a musician (or neither) looking to worship the LORD in song more than just from your pew, your talents are welcome.
Please contact the parish office by phone at 650-591-5937 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org to be connected with appropriate director for the Mass time you wish to join.
