Charismatic Prayer and Praise Group- God’s Grace
In the Gospel of John, Chapters 13-16, Jesus said He would send us a Comforter, an Advocate, the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, who would guide us into all truth and reveal Him to us.
Every Thursday from 7 pm – 8:30 pm, in St. Mark’s Church, individuals from St. Marks, and from the surrounding parishes including St. Charles, St. Gregory, St. Bruno, St. Robert, Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Dunston, come together to learn about the Holy Spirit.
Charismatic Praise and Worship, Scripture sharing and the use of the Holy Spirit’s extraordinary gifts such as the Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom and Prayer for Healing are conducted during the prayer meeting.
In Romans, it says that the Holy Spirit will help us when we pray.
Romans 8:26-27 (NRSVCE) Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes[a] with sighs too deep for words. 27 And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
During the Prayer Meeting, Holy Spirit led Intercession is conducted for others and for our Parish Communities.
Note: in 2016, Monsignor James Tarantino, RIP, began this Charismatic Prayer Group, God’s Grace, at St. Mark’s Church. He stated that the purpose of the group was to Praise, Worship, and Honor God, pray to the Holy Spirit and learn the guidance, move of and gifts of the Holy Spirit and most importantly, to build up the Body of Christ. It is a lively time of singing, scripture reading and prayer. We continue to honor this foundational purpose.
The Servant Leaders of the Prayer Group are: Deacon Ernie von Emster, St. Charles, John Murphy, St. Gregory, and Rose Payán from St. Mark’s. For information about the Prayer Meeting email Rose at firstname.lastname@example.org All are Welcome!
Deacon Ernie von Emster was ordained a Deacon nine years ago.
The men attending the prayer group prayed over Deacon Ernie thanking the Lord for his faithful servant. Prayed a new season of greater Joy and Fruitfulness.
